INTRODUCTION
Be captivated by the energy and force of the most important place in the Inca civilization, Machu Picchu, known as a jewel of architecture and citadel that went unnoticed for centuries. Contemplate the beauty of nature in the middle of the Selva eyebrow and observe the variety of flora and fauna in the area. Enjoy the wonderful thermo-medicinal waters and the warmth of the people of Aguas Calientes.
DAY 1: CUSCO - AGUAS CALIENTES
To start our program, we pick you up from your Hotel and take you to the train station in Ollantaytambo, which is about a 1 hour and 50 minute drive. There we will board the train, taking an approximate 1 hour and 40 minute ride to the town of Aguas Calientes. During the ride we will observe the spectacular beauty of nature and abundant flora of the area, crossing the captivating landscape of the Sacred Valley of the Incas. We will see a distant view of Machu Picchu when arriving in the town of Aguas Calientes, a cozy place. The hotel staff will be waiting upon your arrival at the train station to take you to the hotel. We will then have the afternoon free to visit the town, enjoy the thermal baths or visit the site museum of Machu Picchu.
DAY 2: AGUAS CALIENTES - MACHU PICCHU - AGUAS CALIENTES
After an early morning breakfast at the Hotel, we will board the bus in Aguas Calientes for about a 30 minute ride to an Archaeological complex. Here we will be immersed in enigmatic beauty and the incomparable architectural and hydrologic perfection of the Inca culture. We will have a 2 hour guided tour accompanied by a specialist who will explain the historical legacy of the citadel of Machu Picchu. They will give a complete description of this great and imposing attraction that is one of the seven wonders of the world.
After the guided excursion, you will have free time to visit Machu Picchu in greater extent, and if you have tickets to Huayna Picchu, you may visit there as well. Later we will descend to the town of Aguas Calientes by bus and have a peaceful lunch, trying a variety of Peruvian foods. In the afternoon, our train will return us to the town of Ollantaytambo, where the tourist bus will take us back to the city of Cusco and to your hotel.
